Rennovations of the community areas are now complete. They are abuzz with activity. We are proud to showcase Hunters Hill Lodge at its finest. Residents are enjoying the new decor in our dining room and take pride in inviting faminly and friends for dinner. Just feel like sitting and reading a book or chatting with friends. Please have a look at the Tarban room over looking Tarban Bay or the new library, bursting with books.

The changes to the graden off Gladesville Road were presented at a meeting of the residents this week. The proposed changes were warmly recieved with residents eagre to see the works commence.

The refurbished community areas on Level 5 at Hunters Hill Lodge was officially Re Opened on Satuday 13th March 2010. Residents and staff were joined by a number of guests including the Mayor Sue Hoopmann, the Hon. Joe Hockey and the Marist Fathers.

At a meeting of the Owners Corporation held yesterday afternoon in the Tarban Club, it was confirmed that the corridors on each level will be refurbished in 2010 to match the standard set on Level 5 with the works that were carried out in 2009.

After much consideration and debate, the area previously referred to as the "Library" or "Theatre" is to be renamed "The Montbel Room". This name draws from the history of the site that Hunters Hill Lodge currently occupies with the French Marists who lived at Villa Marie, Hunters Hill, naming a small 19th century stone cottage "Montbel".

With the refurbishment of the common areas looking out over Tarban Bay complete, residents at the Lodge came together for Melbourne Cup day. After a wonderful lunch, the celebrations moved into the 'soon to be named' theatre for our annual "Fashions on the Field" event.

Residents were joined by family and friends at this years Christmas Party. Close to 110 people enjoyed a three course meal put on by the Lodge's Chef, John Armstrong. After the offical proceedings were out of the way, more than 15 raffle prizes were drawn on the day with meaning many of the residents and their guests walked away with a Christmas Gift.

From the moment you walk through the door to reception at Hunters Hill Lodge, you get a real sense of arrival. The installation of the new reception desk is the perfect location for all our conceirge services. The Hill Gallery was also generous enough to lend a few peices of art for the Christmas season.

The extension to the southern end of the Community Area is now complete with the delivery of furnishings and the insallation of curtains and blinds to the Boronia Dining Room and the Tarban Club. By far the most popular feature has been the extension to enclose the eastern and western ends of the Terrace overlooking Tarban Bay.

On Tuesday 29th September, Nintedo demonstated their Wii entertainment system for all residents at Hunters Hill Lodge. This demonstration was held in the Theatre and catered for more than 20 attendees. Whilst some were a little cautios in participating, all agreed to having a wonderful afternoon.

With thefirst stage to the refurbishment to the Community Areas on Level 5 near completion, residents and their guests took advantage of the Spring weather and hosted a Garden Party.

After a weekend of Dining on bare floors, and listening to echoing sounds, the new carpet has been laid at the Lodge. The Boronia Dining Room, the Vista Lounge and Tarban Club have all undergone an amazing transformation as the pictures show.

We are well underway with the refurbishment of Level 5. Starting with the balcony overlooking Tarban Bay, the work has progressed on schedule despite some hold ups from the weather. Plenty of pictures are availble in the Gallery!

The Refurbishment of Level 5 will commence on Tuesday 12th May 2009 with the delivery of building supplies and the erection of scaffolding on the apartment balconies directly below Level 5.

Fair Trading Minister Virginia Judge today welcomed the passage of the Retirement Villages Amendment Bill 2008 by the NSW Parliament.
Ms Judge said the new laws would better protect the rights of retirement village residents without compromising the viability of an industry vital to our ageing population.

On Sunday residents were joined by their family and friends for the pinnacle event in the Lodge's calendar, the Christmas Party. This year saw close to 100 people come together for a Christmas lunch, catered by our Chef John.
